Article: Year of the Snake Recap

Year of the Snake Recap

This morning one of our dear customers, Martie Simpson, placed her 16th order with Fraulein Boot Company! What a milestone and got us reminiscin’ over our year.

We kicked the year off in January at a really cool extended pop- up with Chieffalo Americana in Bowie House in Fort Worth. They have supported us since our launch and we love mixing it up with their dog, X. One of our core values: must love dogs. In February we took over a space did a little Fraulein brick and mortar moment at River Oaks Shopping center to coincide with Houston Rodeo where we celebrated the launch of our Texas collection. This collection was a love letter to our childhood travels – different places we’d visit. We got to do a styling segment a rodeo fashion show on H-town live! Sarah was invited to a distinguished speaker event at Trinity University and got to meet Brene Brown (Margaret got to DM with her) and we all watched her book tour all across the country wearing Fraulein boots! We moved straight from HTX to Round Top for our first ever Fraulein booth at Blue Hills – we curated art, fashion, jewelry, furniture, etc. It was so much work, but so much fun. We scooted over to Two Step Inn to meet Fraulein wearing friends  irl Willow Avalon and Maggie Antone. Not star struck, but we might have age dysmorphia and think we are the same age as them. Margaret visited Hinton and Hinton for double decker bus and met the best people in Oxford, Ms. A friend of her son’s said about Oxford, “you won’t meet a bad person.” We agree – they are all delightful. It is such a kick meeting customers and retail partners in real life. And that town has some spirit!! We wore our boots with formals, celebrated lots of Friday Frauleins, were on feet during engagements, senior pictures, holiday cards, weddings, birthdays, game days. We created our own special boot shine!! We went out West this summer to Park City, Aspen, Crested Butte, Breckenridge, and Santa Fe, hosted Sendero Provisions (Spring) and Cleobella (fall) at our Round Top booth!! Zella Day of Chaparelle wore her SA rose boots on stage at Blues on the Green in ATX. We were part of the vendor experience at Mark Maggori’s Far West Western art show in ATX. Got to pop up at the amazing Commodore Perry in ATX. EEK!  On stage on feet of Jackie Miclau of Mt Joy. Swoony pop up with the Huntress NY thanks to little Liza our Texas Tech intern. Got to host artisits, Sally King Benedict and Paige Holland art for Fall RT show. We did a fun weekend bag collab with Carla Valencia and Noonday collection inspired by our cactus boot and love of heading West!  Took part in the Barn Bazaar in Edmond, Oklahoma. Made the news in Paper City with fun brand dinner by Society Social. So proudly launched our first collaborative boot duo with Hotel Emma to commemorate their 10 year anniversary, Emma and Otto (our first men’s boot). Had some lovely Fall pop ups with Tulipano, Keri Kropp. Hitched our wagon in Vegas to Western & Co and got to participate in our first ever cowboy Christmas at the NFR. Brought back the roadrunner boot just in time for Christmas.

Whew!!  What a year! We’ve got SO much fun stuff on the horizon we can’t wait to share with you!! Yall are the best!!  We love this!!

XOXO,

Margaret and Sarah
