Teachers Make the World Go 'Round

We come from a long line of teachers on our mom’s side. She was a teacher, her mom was a teacher, our aunt was a teacher and our cousin was a teacher. SHOUT out for the teachers!! Our whole lives we got to hear, “I love Mrs. Fortinberry, she was my favorite teacher ever!” One year she won teacher of the year and got this awesome lucite apple. We were so proud. We still are SO proud!!

Whitney Houston sang it so true:

I believe that children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.

Our mom loved making a difference in these kids lives. We recently crossed path’s with a former student who told us the cutest story of how our mom taught her improper fraction is larger on the top than it is on the bottom – just like Dolly Parton!! 

Now that will stick with you!  Speaking of Dolly, WHAT would Dolly do? Do you know what Dolly does? Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a nonprofit program that mails free, age-appropriate children's books to enrolled kids on a monthly basis. So check out Imagination Library UM kaaaay – Dolly is SO awesome!!!!!!!!!!

While you are at it – check out Communities in Schools  – we love to support this organization and hope you might too. Our Aunt, Former first lady of Texas, Linda Gale White, is very involved in this wonderful organization.  Communities In Schools believe that every student, regardless of their background or circumstances, should have what they need to realize their full potential in school and beyond. Through relationships with caring adults who work in schools and across communities, we connect students to school and community resources, so they show up to school prepared and ready to learn.
